Your Goddess

A freshly picked rose.
You treat her like a goddess.
So beautiful and healthy, place her in a vase.
You spend every moment possible with that rose,
giving her gifts to entice your love,
enjoying her scent that seems to last forever,
kissing the rose so tenderly on her petals.
Time escapes and the sun goes down.
Your goddess turns and withers away,
The scent not so pleasant.
All that is left to do is to return her to the ground.
All alone, you send her away with hurtful words.
No last kiss or peaceful good bye.
Don't pick the rose to let her die.
